QUEERTY. PREMIERE OF FORWARD EP (PART I)
October 22nd, 2021
Queer recording artist Ryals drops his new album this week, a song cycle inspired by loss of a parent, navigating a foreign society, and enduring a life of homophobia. Far from the downbeat tunes the subject matter would imply, Ryals has composed an energized and sassy compilation of synth-pop, electronica and sexy dance tracks about resilience and personal inspiration. Our favorite track: the piano ballad “My Days,”. The composition and Ryals wailing vocals recall Lady Gaga’s “You & I.”

WONDERLAND MAGAZINE. PREMIERE: RYALS – “FORWARD” MUSIC VIDEO
October 9th, 2021
And, while the track’s messaging boasts a moving undertone, its accompanying music video hopes to allow the feelings of defiance to overpower. Featuring the twisted and torturous scenes of personified ignorance bound and gagged, an infectiously sinister tone is set. And, as RYALS embarks on an attitude-filled serenading of the camera and choreographed dances, watchers become entranced as they enter into his slightly creepy world.

When asked about his upcoming single “Midnight” RYALS said, “I wanted to have a fire pop dance track on the record for sure. It is also part of me, as a songwriter I can forever sing heartbreaking ballad. I wanted this song to have this dark underground vibe, but also there’s a real broken heart in there, wandering around trying to find the answers on how to be whole again. I love this song so much, it has the nerve. And it doesn’t let go of you until the end”

STITCHEDSOUND MAGAZINE, PREMIERE OF THE SINGLE "GREAT SOCIETY"
September 9th, 2021
” The “Great Society” is a power ballad, written as a response to society’s prejudice and hatred towards LGBTQIA community. Ungrounded prejudice creates an environment, for the kids like us, full of hatred and fear. From early on we hear that people like ourselves are going to be bullied, persecuted, killed and after we die we’re also gonna be punished by “God”and so forever burn in “hell”. Not really understanding what it is all based on, but learning the consequences from the very childhood – we learn to suppress our interests, our longings and our feelings. And it is NOT okay."
